Karl Gerstenberger has been the Mechanicville Girls Varsity Head coach since 2010. During his tenure with the girls program, Karl assisted in the player developed of a number of Colonial Council and Wasaren League All Stars, Section II All Stars and All-NYS Team Selections. Karl has also garnered sectional appearances each year, guiding his teams to Sectional Championships. Karl was also named the Girls Soccer coach of the Year by the Saratogian. The Mechanicville Girls Soccer team has been ranked also received a state ranking in the Top 8 under Karl’s leadership. Prior to coaching the girls program, Karl was the head coach of the Mechanicville Varsity Boys Soccer team from 1999-2009. This was the platform in which Karl began his legacy of success, which carried over to the girls’ side. Karl is also a certified referee. He holds a NCAA National License and a USSF E License.
